The West Coast Avengers - Vol 2 - #41 - 1989 - When Ghosts Can Die, Even Gods Must Fear! - (VFN)

A high-concept supernatural thriller that brings a terrifying, centuries-old threat right to the Avengers' doorstep. During their legendary time-traveling trek through history, the West Coast Avengers crossed paths with the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Rama-Tut (an early variant of Kang the Conqueror). In issue #41, the mystical fallout of that encounter comes back to haunt them as the vengeful, undead spirit of an Egyptian deity breaches the modern world, forcing a depleted Avengers roster into a desperate battle against a literal god.

The issue opens with the remaining West Coast team—Hawkeye, Vision, and the Scarlet Witch—still trying to pick up the pieces of their fractured roster following the departure of Mockingbird, Tigra, and Moon Knight. Their somber reflections are violently interrupted when a massive surge of mystical, temporal energy erupts within the compound.
